MOLePOINTS Distribution & Collection Base Expands to More Than 4,000 Outlets Nationwide
Kuala Lumpur, 27 October 2004 – MOL AccessPortal Berhad (MOLAccess) has announced today that a strategic partnership between MOLAccess and e-pay (M) Sdn Bhd has been established. This partnership will involve the sales & distribution of MOLePoints top-ups through e-pay’s extensive network of more than 4,000 terminal-equipped physical outlets nationwide.
MOLePoints is an innovative online micro-payment system that allows users to pay cash at physical outlets for their online transactions. Users are able to then purchase content, services and products such as massively multiplayer online games, movies, magazines, voice over IP, flowers and bus tickets online.
MOLePoints has been available at more than 1,000 physical outlets, which include cybercafé and 7-Eleven outlets. Effective November 2004, MOL prepaid customers can now purchase MOLePoints at the nearest e-pay outlets which displayed the distinctive purple and yellow e-pay signage. This includes participating petrol stations, pharmacies such as Watsons, Parkson stores and all major handphone and photo outlets.
The MOLePoints purchase process is simple. Customers just need to purchase the MOLePoints top-up in the denomination they wish to buy, ie RM30, RM40 or RM50. A MOL e-pay voucher will be issued to the customer. With this voucher, customers just need to log on to www.mol.com, key-in their username and password and top-up by entering the pin and serial number of the purchased vouchers. Customers may then purchase the wide array of products services available online.
