MOL AccessPortal To Roll Out Broadband TV Services In June
KUALA LUMPUR, April 5 (Bernama) — MOL AccessPortal Bhd plans to roll out its new broadband television services, which would have access to 50 channels, in June.
“We are in the midst of finalising with our network provider and looking forward to the launch this June,” chief executive officer, Ganesh Kumar Bangah, said after signing a partnership agreement with Bimbit.com Sdn Bhd here Thursday. He said the broadband television, with entertainment features, would also have access to all MOL’s services.
Ganesh said the company was also collaborating with EON Bank to launch a new prepaid MasterCard service, known as Freedom MasterCard, next month.
“The prepaid card will have a top-up limit of up to RM10,000.
“Consumers need to sign up with EON Bank to use the service and they can top up the card at the online banking services of any bank,” he said.
Earlier, he said, the partnership with Bimbit.com involved the distribution of digital music using the MOLePoints payment system.
“Under the partnership, consumers will be able to utilise the MOLePoints micropayment to purchase and download music,” he said.
Bimbit.com is an authorised digital music dealer endorsed by the Recording Industry Association of Malaysia, offering music for downloading to computers, mobile phones and Apple iPods through Internet.
Currently, it manages over a million songs from major music labels — SonyBMG Music, Warner Music, Universal Music and EMI Music.
